Project Description
To establish a partnership between PSU and Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU), a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in Texas, that can form the foundation for a collaborative grant examining how experiences of belonging, mattering, and inclusion (BMI) across differing campus contexts—Predominantly White Institutions (PWIs) vs Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs)—relate to the long-term success and wellbeing of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) students and faculty. We seek to collect pilot data from BIPOC students and faculty at each site that will inform and support a future multi-site, longitudinal investigation of achievement and mental health among racially minoritized individuals in academia.
