The community-facing toolkit is designed to educate learners about the importance of community-engaged research
The Community Health Equity & Engagement in Research (CHEER) Team has launched a community-facing toolkit for researchers to share with their community partners! The Community Partner Toolkit is designed to educate learners about the importance of community-engaged research (CEnR), guiding CEnR principles to support meaningful engagement, and strategies to develop and maintain successful community-academic partnerships.
Weaved throughout each section are real-world, evidence-based best practices and resources geared for nontraditional research partners, with specific focus on the mutual benefits of partnering. Please help spread the word!
Also check out the CHEER Researcher Toolkit for researcher-facing tools and resources!
Additionally, the CHEER team is hoping to improve the ways in which research participants and other populations receive aggregate study findings, with the goals of improving overall trust in research, health literacy and health outcomes. Research wouldn’t be possible without our study volunteers.
The CHEER team is holding focus groups to discuss approaches to lay dissemination of study results, engaging both patients and stakeholders in real-time conversations. CHEER will be presenting evidence-based and novel lay dissemination methodologies to gain perspectives on how to best deliver and improve lay dissemination techniques. Please share the following information with any past/current research participants so those voices can shape innovation in results translation:
The Penn State Community Health Equity & Engagement in Research (CHEER) team is seeking your input about the best ways to receive research information related to healthcare. Your feedback will help researchers develop ways to share results with study populations and the broader community. With your involvement, we can make research results that are more accessible to all and ultimately lead to healthier lives!
You will be compensated $50 for your one-time participation in a focus group. Register here or email CHEER@pennstattehealth.psu.edu to learn more.
