
Penn State's Child Maltreatment Solutions Network Fall 2024 Conference, being held on November 15, has announced a call for posters related to the conference theme "Biological Embedding of Caregiving Adversity".
Although child maltreatment will be a central focus of the conference, any work related to biological processes and caregiving adversity will be considered. The poster session is scheduled at the end of the conference in parallel with the Networking Reception and will include an award for best student poster.
We encourage participation from:
- Undergraduate and graduate students
- Postdoctoral fellows and trainees
- Faculty
- Conference attendees
The deadline for poster registration is September 1 at 5 p.m., and space is limited. Posters presented at other events are welcome.

POSTER SESSION DETAILS
Who’s eligible to submit a poster?
All attendees, especially trainees and early career researchers (undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral trainees, and assistant professors)
When is the poster submission deadline?
The deadline to submit your poster abstract is September 1 at 5 p.m.
How long should the abstract be?
Less than 300 words. Up to 2 images (tables or figures) are allowed.
Should the poster follow a theme?
We ask that your poster try to follow this year’s conference theme, but it is not a requirement.
Could I present a poster that I have already presented at another conference?
Yes. The goal is to share and discuss your recent findings with other investigators in the field.
Could I present a poster from a registered report?
Yes. The goal is to share and discuss your research with other investigators in the field.
How are poster abstracts submitted?
Please submit poster via the “Submit Your Poster Abstract” link. You will be notified by September 2 if your poster has been accepted.
How should I register for the conference?
When registering for the conference, remember to indicate whether you plan to present a poster. Accepted poster presenters will be provided with conference registration, including lunch. Poster printing costs may be reimbursed upon request and approval.
What size should my poster be?
The maximum poster size accepted is 3 feet high x 4 feet wide.
Where / when should I set up my poster?
You can set your poster up at the beginning of the conference, Friday, November 15, between 8:30 – 9:00 a.m. or during lunch from 12:00-12:45 p.m. Posters will be displayed for the duration of the symposium, highlighted during the Poster Session and Reception held from 4:15 – 5:30 p.m. Posters can be taken down at the end of the conference at 5:30 p.m.
