The initial survey of the Data4Action (D4A) project was completed by more than 10,000 respondents and included questions about the economic, employment, and health impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. More than 2,000 respondents also participated in biological testing, with the fourth wave of testing kicking off this month.
Our researchers are looking for new students to enroll and are encouraging current participants to continue in the study, even if they have received their vaccination for COVID-19.
Student biological testing is beginning, and resident testing will follow later this fall. The blood and hair testing will enable researchers track exposure to the virus and document biological changes over the course of the pandemic over time.
By documenting social and economic impacts alongside biological data, the D4A research findings can provide guidance on effective messaging in the near term while understanding what factors predict important preventative strategies for future vaccination efforts beyond COVID-19.
