The University of Pittsburgh has joined the Penn State Federal Statistical Research Data Center (FSRDC) consortium. The consortium includes Penn State, University of Pennsylvania, Drexel, Temple, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. The institutions jointly oversee and fund the operation of two FSRDCs, one in Penn State's Pattee Library and one in the Federal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia. Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh will be able to conduct research using the restricted data from the Census Bureau, National Center for Health Statistics, and Bureau of Labor Statistics at either of the two locations.
Mark Roberts, director of the FSRDC and professor of economics, was recently named a Liberal Arts Professor. He joined Penn State as an assistant professor in 1980 and was promoted to professor in 1989.
