Penn State’s Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) recently named Koraly Pérez-Edgar, McCourtney Professor of child studies and professor of psychology, as an associate director of the institute.
Pérez-Edgar, a developmental neuroscientist whose research focuses on child temperament and psychopathology, will serve on SSRI’s Executive Committee and assist in the development novel research collaborations through SSRI's funding programs, represent SSRI in University committees and forums, and advise SSRI Director Susan McHale.
The addition of Pérez-Edgar will increase the disciplinary scope of SSRI's leadership team, and her grantsmanship experience will provide a valuable resource for faculty in the social and behavioral sciences at Penn State.
Prior to this role, Pérez-Edgar served as the principal investigator in the Cognition, Affect, and Temperament Lab. She was also the recipient of the 2017-2018 Cattell Sabbatical Award, where she was granted a year of sabbatical leave to audit research methods courses at Penn State and attend statistical and methodological workshops.
