Faculty and staff from all of SSRI's units recently gathered at the Nittany Lion Inn to celebrate major accomplishments of the year and to announce staff awards.
The “Above and Beyond Award” was presented to Kassidy McElwee of the Child Maltreatment Solutions Network, and Valerie Keppenne and Mindi Weidow, both from the Survey Research Center. The award recognizes SSRI staff members whose performance or accomplishments, in terms of both quality and quantity, have far exceeded expectations.
Jen Smith of the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness received the “Innovation Award”. This award recognizes an SSRI staff member whose novel ideas, refined work procedures, and other innovative practices have advanced the activities and accomplishments of the unit, SSRI, and/or social science at Penn State.
Diana Malcom of the Child Maltreatment Solutions Networks was awarded the “Workplace Climate Award”. The award recognizes SSRI staff members whose activities and behaviors have fostered a workplace climate marked by civility, cooperation, integrity, and the pursuit of excellence.
Carmen Frost of the Population Research Institute received the “Diversity and Inclusion Award”. This is awarded to an SSRI staff member who has been successful in creating a culture of inclusivity and is committed to and accountable for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its forms.
Congratulations to all on a job well done! And a special thanks to Barbara Rigg, Robin Dickson, Melissa Krug, and Deanna Lose for organizing another successful event.
