![]() Title: “Concepts for Big Data Analysis and Examples from Penn State’s Advanced CyberInfrastructure(ICS-ACI)" Abstract: Big Data represent an exciting opportunity for social scientists to test innovative hypotheses on new datasets, but working with large datasets requires approaches that many researchers did not learn as part of their training. In the first part of this talk, I share the concepts I found helpful for making a transition to analyzing large datasets. In the second part, I demonstrate these concepts in action using Penn State's Advanced CyberInfrastructure (ICS-ACI) to query and visualize terabyte-scale Twitter data. **Lunch will be provided** |
