The Materials Research Institute (MRI) is partnering with the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences, Social Science Research Institute, Institute for Computational and Data Science, Institutes of Energy and the Environment, the College of Medicine, and the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) on a new interdisciplinary seed grant program.
The seed grant program is designed to encourage faculty to establish new research relationships outside their own unit and area of expertise and to pursue high-risk, high-impact transformative ideas by gathering preliminary data that can be used to pursue larger grants.
Proposals are encouraged in the following theme areas:
· Artificial Intelligence for Accelerating Materials Discovery, Design and Synthesis
· Materials and Processes Challenges and Opportunities in the Transformation of Carbon and Hydrogen Economies
· Regenerative Medicine and Engineering
· Wearables and Implantables for Health
· MRI-ARL Partnership
We are targeting these areas to enable our researchers to generate new ideas and build new teams to have an impact in these areas. Ideal teaming will consider the diversity of expertise among the team members and a fruitful mixture of experienced and early-career investigators.
