Joshua Rosenberger, assistant professor of biobehavioral health, has been appointed as the new director of the Social Science Research Institute’s Survey Research Center (SRC), effective April 17. Rosenberger has been at the SRC as the Academic Director since 2017.
Dr. Rosenberger succeeds Miranda Kaye, who has been the SRC director since 2021 and was previously a research and evaluation scientist for the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness at Penn State.
Dr. Kaye is leaving Penn State to become the director of the University of Chicago’s Survey Lab. “Moving on was a tough decision to make, but I’m excited to be joining the University of Chicago,” said Dr. Kaye. “Between the guidance and mentorship Daniel Perkins (Clearinghouse principal scientist and founder) provided during my time at the Clearinghouse, the opportunity to do meaningful work with amazing teammates and the exceptional team at the SRC, I am sorry to be leaving such a great group of colleagues.”
As SRC director, Dr. Rosenberger will oversee multiple units that provide researchers with innovative data collection methods to assess ongoing behavior, experience, physiology, and environmental factors in people’s natural settings.
“Survey research continues to be an integral part of the research conducted by investigators at Penn State,” said Dr. Rosenberger. “As the science of survey research continues to evolve, I look forward to leading the team at SRC and to continue to provide exceptional service to those utilizing our services.”
Please join us in wishing Dr. Kaye success in her new role at the University of Chicago and offer support to Dr. Rosenberger during this transition.
