Description |
Through the Consortium on Moral Decision-Making (https://moralconsortium.psu.edu/), and in partnership with the Penn State Center for Socially Responsible AI and the University Libraries, we'll be hosting a hybrid conference on Empathy, Morality, & AI here at Penn State in Foster Auditorium and on Zoom. We’ll have three panels of flash talks by speakers who have come from around the world. These include psychologists, philosophers, and engineers who bring diverse perspectives on how to think about empathy and morality in the context of changing AI capabilities (e.g., LLMS, humanoid robots). We’ll also have a virtual panel of speakers from abroad. Lastly, there will be at least one hour set aside for roundtable workshops to collaborate, converse, and develop new ideas. Speakers will include: Michael Inzlicht (University of Toronto) Anat Perry (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem) Jason D'Cruz (University at Albany) Angelica Lim (Simon Fraser University) Alan Wagner (Penn State University) Jana Schaich Borg (Duke University) Brett Karlan (Purdue University) Gus Skorburg (University of Guelph) Jim A. C. Everett (University of Kent) Madeline Reinecke (Oxford University) Yochanan Bigman (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem) Ali Ladak (University of Edinburgh, Sentience Institute) Danica Dillion (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) Agnieszka Wykowska (Istituto Italiano di Technologia)
