Hajime Shimao, Ph.D.
Biography
Hajime Shimao received his Ph.D. in Economics from Purdue University, his M.S. in Decision Science from Tokyo Institute of Technology and his B.A. in Psychology from Tokyo University. He conducts research by applying machine learning and statistical techniques to a wide range of topics in interdisciplinary social science including economics, sociology, laws, history, and art. His articles have been published in top conferences such as ICML and academic journals such as Nature Communications. Prior to joining Penn State, he worked for Santa Fe Institute and McGill University.
