John Iceland, PRI associate and professor of sociology and demography, was recently awarded the Raymond Lombra Award for Distinction in the Social Sciences for his work in this area.
Iceland’s research interests include demography, social inequality, immigration and incorporation, and urban sociology with projects that investigate the link between concentrated poverty, segregation and health, as well as the growing income inequality’s effect on Americans’ health and well-being.
This award looks for College of Liberal Arts tenured faculty members who have exhibited excellence in their research and knowledge in the social or life sciences fields.
