Following Penn State’s 31st National Symposium on Family Issues, Springer has released the latest edition in the book series based on the symposium, “Immigration Policy and Immigrant Families.”
Jennifer Van Hook, director of Population Research Institute (PRI) and distinguished professor of sociology and demography and Valarie King, professor emeritus of sociology, demography, and human development and family studies and emeritus associate of the PRI, both of Penn State, collaborated on this edition of the series.
The publication explores immigration law and how it affects immigrant families in the US. Chapters describe the healthy and well-being of DACA, aging and family dynamics for Asian immigrant families, the impact of immigrant legal status throughout generation among other issues. Additionally, it offers recommendations for family researchers on how to advance our understanding of both short and long-term effects of immigration laws and policies.
The publication is available in hard cover and downloadable as an eBook as a PDF or EPUB at Springer. The volume is also available at Penn State University Libraries.
