On March 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., a Capitol Hill Research and Policy Briefing will take place featuring two SSRI cofounds: Erica Frankenberg and Jennifer Van Hook.
The event will be hybrid with the in-person option located in the Russel Senate Office Building, Room 118, 2 Constitution Ave NE, Washington, DC.
Frankenberg, associate director of SSRI and professor of education policy studies and demography at Penn State, will discuss suburban school segregation intensifying in a policy vacuum at this event.
Van Hook, director of Penn State’s Population Research Institute and Roy C. Buck professor of sociology and demography, will shed light on the demographic shifts in school-aged populations.
The event, organized by the renowned Civil Rights Project/Proyecto Derechos Civiles, will bring together additional policymakers, researchers, and advocates to discuss and propose solutions to pressing challenges.
