Penn State recently announced that seven of SSRI’s cofunded faculty members were promoted and several were granted tenure.
Sarah Font was promoted to associate professor of sociology, Sheridan Miyamoto was promoted to associate professor of nursing, and Hannah Schreier was promoted to associate professor of biobehavioral health. All three were also granted tenure.
Christian Connell, an associate professor of human development and family studies, was granted tenure.
SLEIC Director Michele Diaz was promoted to professor of psychology, Michelle Frisco to professor of sociology and demography, and Gregory Shearer to professor of nutritional sciences.
The Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) seeks to stimulate interdisciplinary research in targeted areas of strength at Penn State through co-funding of faculty hires. SSRI currently co-funds 50 faculty members in the Colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Education, Engineering, Health and Human Development, the Liberal Arts, Medicine, and Nursing.
