Sarah Brothers, assistant professor of sociology and public policy and Social Science Research Institute co-funded faculty member, is the recipient of the 2024 College of Liberal Arts' Roy C Buck Award.
This award recognizes the best paper accepted or published by an untenured, tenure-track assistant professor in the college within the last year. Brothers received the award for her paper, “Perceptions towards HCV Treatment with Direct Acting Antivirals (DAAs): A Qualitative Analysis with Persons with HIV/HCV Co-Infection Who Delay or Refuse Treatment,” published in the journal AIDS and Behavior in 2023.
The Roy C. Buck Award is an endowed award to honor untenured, tenure-track faculty members in the college whose research involves social or human sciences. The award was established by Roy C. Buck, a professor of rural sociology, who retired from Penn State in 1981.
